Thumb Sucker

We've got a major thumb sucker on our hands now.  He discovered his little thumb a couple days ago and has rarely given it a rest since.  The poor little thing is a red and sore looking, but he loves that little thumb.  It's actually been kinda nice, ever since he started sucking his thumb he's become a lot less fussy and can sometimes put himself to sleep.  It's pretty adorable when he does it too :) I love this little guy so much!

And The Sleep Woes Continue...

Not only have the sleeping problems continued, they have gotten worse.  Now, instead of waking up every 2 hours, he's decided to wake up every 1 to 2 hours and then around 4 in the morning, he decides to stay awake for about an hour before going back to sleep for another 2 hours... grrrrr.  This is so frustrating! We are now forced to do the one thing I've been hoping and praying we wouldn't have to do... let him cry it out.  I don't know if I have the mental strength to do it, but somehow I'm gonna have to.  I'm sure I'll be crying just as much, if not more, as he will be.  Wish us luck!

A Tale of Walter's Sleep Woes

Walter's sleeping has been anything but consistent.  I thought that we were getting on some kind of a night time schedule- he was only waking up twice, going for two four hour blocks of sleep.  But for the last week or so he has decided that that doesn't work for him anymore and he now will go to bed anytime between 8:30 and 10, then wake up at 1, 3, and 5, then stay asleep til 8 or 9.  I've been doing my best not to feed him every time he wakes up but sometimes that the only way he will go back to sleep.  As if that isn't frustrating enough, he will only nap for 1/2 an hour at a time, and when he takes naps is completely random.  So he ends up taking about 5 or 6 naps a day and is usually pretty onrey in between naps because he's still tired... silly boy.  It's a good thing he is so cute :) see for yourself...

Walter Gets His Shots

On Thursday Walter had his 2 month check up, which meant immunizations :( I was freaking out for days about this.  I did not want my sweet little guy to get hurt and possibly have a fever and not feel good afterwards.  I made my mom go with me because I just couldn't do it alone.  Luckily, I made it much worse in my head than it actually was.  He cried for just a few minutes after getting his shots and then he went to sleep and took a good 3 hour nap.  After that, he never showed signs of not feeling good or having a fever! I was very relieved.  We also got his current height and weight.  He is 13 lbs 8 oz (77th percentile) and 23.5 inches (50th percentile).  He's a big boy, and I love it!

Walter Goes to the Park

Today was Walter's first time going to the park.  We went and had a little picnic for lunch, and it was so fun! Walter definitely loves being outside!  He loves to just look at everything around him, he even started talking to the tree that we sat under- so cute! When we put him back in his car seat to go home he gave us the biggest pouty lip and then bawled the whole way home... so we'll definitely be going to the park more often :)

2 Months

Yesterday my adorable baby boy turned 2 months old! He is getting so big and I get pretty sad thinking about how fast he is growing up, but he is getting to be so much fun! He smiles like crazy now- especially at ceiling fans... silly boy, but it is adorable.  He is just learning to make little noises and "talk" to us, cutest thing ever! He was supposed to go to his 2 month check up today and get his immunizations :( but I postponed that for the 2nd of August.  I am not looking forward to that at all! I'm sure I'll cry more than he will with the shots.  At 2 months Walter is:

• Wearing 3-6 month clothes, and some 6 month
• Wearing size 2 diapers, but I can tell that any day now he will be out of those
• Eating every 2-3 hours
• Sleeping about 9 hours a night, but he still wakes up about 3 times to eat
• He spends the first half of the night in his bassinet and the second half in our bed... I keep telling myself I need to break him of this habit but when it's the only way that he will sleep and let me sleep it is really easy to just give in
• He has a completely random napping schedule that changes every day, so I guess it's not really a schedule at all

He is such a good little boy and I love him so much! His little face just melts my heart.

Walter's Blessing

This past weekend, we blessed Walter.  It was such a great day and such a beautiful blessing was given to him by his Daddy.  Heather and Grandma Adams came up for the occasion and we also had Grandma and Great Grandma Smith, Sherri and a bunch of cousins come.  My little man looked so handsome :)
