Walter is napping and has been asleep for almost an hour! That never happens! So I don't know what to do with myself right now. The house could use some cleaning up, but that's no fun so I decided I'll do a little update- even though nothing new has really happened in the last week.
I know that everyone says that if you pick your baby up and feed him while you are trying to sleep train him that it'll just confuse them and make things worse, but I am here to tell you that that is not true for all babies. Walter is proof of that. I said in my last post that I was going to start letting him cry it out at night and put himself to sleep, but that I was still feeding him in the middle of the night of he woke up. Well, I don't want to jinx it, but his sleeping habits have become a lot better this past week! He can put himself to sleep fairly easily, sometimes he doesn't even whine, and he is now to the point where he is waking up only once, maybe twice, a night. That is a huge improvement! I will only feed him if he wakes up and it's been about five hours since his last feeding, if he wakes up more often than that, I won't pick him up and he will put himself right back to sleep. He is now sleeping from about 7:30 at night to 6 or 7 in the morning. Yes, waking up once or twice a night is still not the funnest, but I would say that it's a definite improvement from where we were at just a couple weeks ago. I'm okay with him still waking up, I honestly feel like he needs to eat sometimes in the middle of the night, and I honestly don't think it is confusing him. Anyway, that's all I have to say on that subject- I'm happy with how things are going with it now.
Jesse is still super busy with school and work. He is going full time with both, but he will graduate in the spring! He is almost there! It makes for really long days when he goes to work all day and then is in class til 9:30 at night (he does that twice a week), and I always wish he were around more, but I'm glad he is determined to get school done and over with. I really want to go back to school, and I'm hoping I'll be able to take at least one class this coming semester, but we'll see. It'll be an online class so I won't have to leave Walter- I'm not very good at that! I feel pretty pathetic that I don't even have my associates yet, so I really want to start working towards that.
I can tell Walter really wants to sit up on his own and he tries so hard, but he just can't do it quite yet. He has learned how to roll from his back to his belly, but then gets stuck and starts freaking out, it's pretty hilarious. He is becoming super clingy. Most of the time if I put him down and walk out of his eye sight he starts crying, and as soon as he sees me again, he stops. He would much rather be held than set down at all. I love that he is a momma's boy now.
There has been this lady that walks around our apartment complex with a really long stick (I think it looks like a wizards staff), and she has long grey hair and she is always mumbling things to herself. I don't want to be mean, but she really creeps me out! A while back we got a knock on our door and Jesse didn't recognize that it was her, so he answered it, and she was asking all these weird questions like if we were related to all these different people and was talking about how she was looking for her mom and if we had any information about where she was that we needed to come tell her, it was just weird. Just the other day, there was another knock on our door and I was home alone with Walter- it was her again... I was too scared to answer, luckily she went away and didn't come back. Wanna know the really weird part? Heather, who lives in Cedar City, told me that there is a lady that walks around SUU who is just like that! Grey hair, big stick and all! Super weird- they must be related or something...
I think I have rambled enough for now- if anyone has ideas of what Walter should be for Halloween, let me know.
I will leave you with a picture of the most adorable 4 month old you will ever see!
