4 Month Stats and More Sleeping Issues
Walter went to the doctor on Monday for his 4 month check up. He's growing right on schedule! He's 15 1/2 pounds putting him in the 60th percentile for weight, and he's 25 1/2 inches long putting him in the 70th percentile for height. He also got his second set of immunizations. He did great! He only cried for a few seconds and then was happy and back to normal.
I've decided that it's time to let Walter cry it out when it comes to sleeping at night... not fun. So last night was my first night of doing this. I put him down for the night and he cried for maybe 5 to 10 minutes and was out- not too bad! I thought to myself "dang, this is going to be easy"... haha yeah right. He woke up a couple hours later and was not happy! He cried and cried and I felt so bad! We tried to calm him down for a minute and then just let him cry some more. He eventually went to sleep, but still woke up a few times during the night. I know I shouldn't have, but I got up to feed him a couple times, but I did also let him just go back to sleep a couple times, so I'm making progress. I've also let him put himself to sleep for naps a couple of time and he seems to be doing really good with that. He only whines for a few seconds and then finds his thumb and is out. Hopefully we can make a little more progress tonight!

4 Months Old
Yesterday Walter turned 4 months old. He is growing up and changing so much! He has learned so many new things within the last month and has become so interactive and fun! He's developed such a little personality and he's such a sweetheart. At 4 months Walter is:
- Still wearing size 2 diapers
- Still wearing 3-6 month clothes, and some 6 month
- Still a horrible sleeper! He wakes up about 4 times a night and takes 5 or 6 half hour naps a day
- Smiling and laughing like crazy. He doesn't really laugh when he's around anyone but me or Jesse yet
- Grabbing anything and everything within reach and sticking it in his mouth
- He has rolled from tummy to back a couple times, and is really close to rolling from back to tummy
- He just started eating rice cereal. The couple times we have given it to him he seems to like it
- He can now sit in his stroller without being in his car seat
- He hates getting into his car seat
- We got him a Bumbo seat a couple weeks ago, and he seems to have mixed feelings about it. Some days he loves to sit in it, and sometimes he freaks out when he's in it.
- He talks and coos all the time! He makes the funniest little noises
- He loves to play Superman and fly around the house, it makes him laugh
- He loves looking at himself in the mirror, that also makes him laugh
- He is so loveable and such a good little boy. Every time he wakes up from a nap, I go in to get him and the first thing he does is look up at me from his bed and gives me the biggest smile- I love it! He has the happiest little personality.
I take him to the doctor for his 4 month check up tomorrow, which means more shots :( Hopefully he does as good as he did the last time!
He sure is a sweetheart! I love being this little boy's mamma!

Walter's First Meal
Tonight we fed Walter his very first meal of rice cereal! I can't believe he is already old enough to do that! I fed him his first spoonful and then he gave us a big smile, so I think he liked it :) I am hoping that this helps him sleep better at night (fingers crossed!) He is the cutest messy boy around :)
First bite
He seems to like it
All done! Happy and messy :)
So afterwards it was time for a quick bath

Walter Finds His Toes
The other day, I was changing Walter and I saw him eyeing his toes. Within a few seconds he had figured out how to grab on to those puppies. Changing his diapers has become twice as hard ever since :)
Oh The Places You'll Go Festival
This last Saturday the Davis High Band had an all day festival to raise money for the band. Since Michael is in the band this year, we decided we should contribute. The day started off bright and early with a 5.5 mile run/walk. The band will be marching in the Festival of Roses Parade in California and the route they have to march is 5.5 miles, so that's why that was the distance of the run. It was $20 to sign up, and I got a t-shirt out of it :) So Jesse, Walter, Michael and I got to the school just a little before 8 in the morning and started the run.... well Michael ran, the rest of us walked. Jesse, Walter and I didn't make it through the whole route, maybe 3 miles of it, and then we had to head home to feed Walter and put him down for a nap.
Later that evening the band was having a "parents preview" of their field show, so we all got to go and see them perform their show before they went to their first competition (which was last night). It was really awesome! And Michael did a great job! Walter absolutely loved watching the show, he loves anything loud!
It was a fun filled Saturday that made me regret not doing band in high school... oh well.

We were dead last the entire time :)
We got done about an hour after we started and Michael was just finishing the whole race at that same time, he sure can run.

That afternoon we went back to the school and I got to test drive a new Ford Fiesta. For every test drive someone did, Ford would donate $20 to the school. I also got a free t-shirt out of it :) I like those free t-shirts. We got some lunch and then my mom also bought me and my sister a Davis hoodie. We All Like It When Heather Comes Home
This last weekend Heather came home for my uncle's wedding. I always love it when she comes up, and it always seems to go way too fast. Walter also loves it when she comes. He really likes to cuddle with her and will just sit with her for the longest time.
While she was here this last time, she surprised me with an early Christmas present... she bought us Justin Bieber tickets for January 5th in Salt Lake!!! I was so so so excited!! She had gotten a ticket for her a while back, but there wasn't another one for me to go too, so I was pretty bummed, but somehow she was able to find a couple tickets someone was selling and she was able to sell her single ticket. Woohoo!!!!!
And speaking of sisters coming to visit, Emily and her family were in St George over the weekend, and Heather and my parents were able to go see them. The rest of us had to stay here, and I was pretty sad that I wasn't able to see them... I miss them a bunch! They'll be moving back to St George this winter so that'll be fun :)
